Flutterby Blue layout & tag

Today I got to play with a lovely tagger's kit from Butterfly Blush Designs called Flutterby Blue.

I made a layout with a heritage family photo
the cutie pictured here is now 60 years old & a grandfather of 3

I also made a nice tag & tutorial

What I used:
Butterfly Blush’s scrap kit Flutterby Blue which can be purchased here: http://butterflyblushdesigns.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8_9&products_id=124

BitsNBobs Alice poser can be found for free on her blog here:
http://scrappingbits.blogspot.com/2009/05/alice-poser-freebie.html

What I did:
I used Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 to make this tag
1. Open a blank canvas 600 pixels x 600 pixels, transparent.
2. Use the circular marquee selector to create a large circle in the center of the canvas. Fill with paper of choice (paper21).
3. Copy & paste apple blossom3 onto the right hand side of the circle, slanting it slightly & adjusting size as desired. Flip the apple blossom horizontally & copy & paste onto left hand side of the circle, adjusting to mirror the first apple blossom.
4. Flip butterfly2 horizontally & then copy & paste, positioning upon the apple blossom, adjusting size as desired.
5. Copy & paste Alice poser into center of tag, adjusting size as desired.
6. Copy & paste flower spray1, sizing & positioning on Alice’s lap.
7. Add text; in this case, the font is Allegro.
8. Save tag.

Last, but far from least, I created a freebie quick page. So, you can see how versatile this kit is. You may want to add it to your collection, especially now when it is on sale for only $1.50!

Enjoy

La Femme free kit

Well, it happened again - lol. I was doing a colour challenge kit & it grew & grew & grew, so I decided to put it into my stores! That meant starting over with the same colour palette to make a kit suitable for the challenge, which I could give away as a freebie.

So, there is La Femme, the freebie kit
& then there is my latest kit in stores Always A Lady. It is available at all 3 of my stores: Heartbeatz Creations, Digi Fox Studios, & Butterfly Blush.

Because it is a large kit, Always A Lady is listed at $4.00, but it is going to be offered at an introductory sale price of $2.00. There are 40 papers, based upon vintage clipart, & a variety of elements. Both La Femme & Always a Lady are based upon the same colour palette & theme. So if you really like the freebie, consider treating yourself to the other kit as well.

Enjoy.

2nd tag/tut with Sweet Sundae Treat

Finished a 2nd tag/tutorial using Vella's Sweet Sundae Treat kit.

what I used:
tube of choice - I used a tube by Elias Chatzoudis called Sweet Enjoyment,
for which a license is required. You can buy it at http://www.mypsptubes.com.
template of choice - I used template145 from designs by Ali, which can be found
for free on her blog http://designsbyali.blogspot.com.
scrap kit of choice - I used a kit by Vella of Wench Designs called Sweet Sundae Treats
which is available in both tagger
(http://heartbeatzcreationz.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_161&products_id=1724)
and full size
(http://heartbeatzcreationz.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_161&products_id=1723)
You can check out Vella's blog at http://wenchdesigns.blogspot.com.
what I did:
1. Start with a blank transparent canvas 600 pixels x 600 pixels, 300 dpi. I used PSCS4
but this tutorial can be used in other similar graphics programs.
2. Copy & paste the circle from the template. Highlight with magic wand & fill with paper
of choice (paper 14).
3. Copy & paste tube of choice & position in center of circle. I adjusted the size downward slightly. If you are using PSP import the tube of your choice into tubes & play with scale until satisfied.
4. Copy, paste & position elements of choice (bowl of ice cream, tilted toward right,
& fudgesicle 1, tilted very slightly left).
Apply drop shadow to each element.
5. Select desired font, text colour & size. I used OttumHmkBold, 18 pt, dark cherry with cherry-chocolate style applied. Tilt text to approximately reflect lines of the tag.
6. Copy & paste copyright info of the tube along bottom edge of tag, ensuring text
touches but does not obscure tag. Add any additional information using Arial font,
3 pt or 2 pt.
7. Save tag & enjoy.

You know what? This was fun!

I hope you enjoy.

My 1st tag & tutorial

Ok, I have taken the plunge into trying to create tags & write tutorials for them. The only tag I had done prior to this was my entry into a contest Cancer Moon Creations held earlier this year. Yes, I won that contest, but with only 3 entrants to the contest, I wasn't overly impressed by my victory - lol.

Anyway, Vella of Wench designs came out with this kit called Sweet Sundae Treats & that was it - I had to try my hand. It's very much like doing a scrapbook page, but on a smaller scale & I have done some siggys in my past, by request, so I think (I hope) I can do this fine. I am going to try to write the tutorial so you can not only duplicate my tag if you wish, but also learn how to make any tag, if you are a beginner like I am.

So - first a preview of the wonderful scrap kit I used:

Isn't it just delicious?

Now the tag & tutorial.

3. Copy & paste tube of choice & position in center of circle.
4. Copy, paste & position elements of choice (ice cream cone 1, tilted toward right,
semi-parallel to sign post of tube, & butterfly 2, tilted left, perched on sign edge).
Apply drop shadow to each element.
5. Select desired font, text colour & size. I used OttumHmkBold, 18 pt, black with a

6. Copy & paste copyright info of the tube along bottom edge of tag, ensuring text

3 pt or 2 pt.
7. Save tag & enjoy.
I'll be doing a second tag with this kit as well. Stay tuned & enjoy.

June 2009 desktop calendar

As promised I've located the June 2009 desktop calendar I made.
I thought about waiting until tomorrow to post the calendar, but the way I keep losing my internet connection, I decided I'd best post it now while my connection is functioning.
Hope you like it.
Enjoy.

Twilight's Esme Ann

I'm not into the Twilight series myself, but I really like Heartbeatz Creationz latest kit based upon the series' character Esme Ann.

I got to play with her kit today & have 2 freebie quick pages based on the kit for you.

The kit is included in the 55% off sale at Heartbeatz Creationz. So you may want to scoot over there before the sale ends.

55% off Silly Sale

Silly Sale at Heartbeatz Creationz. All Scrappy Luv Designs included. Pip has decided have a sale of her own - Heart of Gold - her products are marked down to only $0.75!! Wow!
So check out Heatbeatz Creationz. It's definitely worth a visit.
Too sick today to make you a freebie. I'm sorry about that. I made a June desktop, burned it to disc & then accidently erased it from my hard drive, so I have to find the disc & reload it. It's from a kit I have in progress, so I still have to put together commercial use credits. I should have it for you either tomorrow or Saturday.
Til then, take care & check out Heartbeatz Creationz.

Flowers for Him quick page

I'm still having real problems with my internet connection & I've picked up some sort of stomache bug that has me sick. It's slowed my creativity down somewhat, because I'm feeling frustrated & depressed. That's why it's been a bit since I posted.

Angel has made me a beautiful tag using my Marmalade Jam kit.

She has a site where she writes tutorials for all the tags she makes with kits from Heartbeatz Creationz. Her work is awesome. Check out her site http://heartzbeatzcreationztuts.blogspot.com/?zx=97f54d01c8258c7e and you'll see what I mean.

I've made a quick page, special for my blog readers. I used stuff that I discarded while working on a charity kit contribution. I keep a file for stuff created that just doesn't work right in whatever kit I'm designing.

Flowers for Him quick page

Hope you like it. Enjoy. (Thanks to all who take the time to comment in the chatbox or under comments - I really appreciate it.)

Whatever kit

Michelles-Angels has a new forum, complete with challenges. I had trouble coming up with a title, as you can probably surmise from the kit's title "Whatever". Besides the kit itself, I made a couple of quick pages, included as a special bonus.
Enjoy

Drifting Dreams quick page

Drifting Dreams quick page

Having internet connection problems. I lost internet for over a week & the connection keeps going down.

Drifting Dreams is a kit I did for Rakscraps monthly challenge. It's a great group to join. If you decide to join up, mention that catmommy recommended them, please. I'm not making the kit available outside Rakscraps, but I have made a quickpage from the kit to give you a taste, & I'll show you the kit preview.

DSO colour challenge - May Potpourri

Hey y'all. Enjoying the warmer weather? I know I am. I got so sick of snow & winter this year, it is so great to see trees start to have green leaves. Bear with me through some news & there's a reward at the end.
The countdown to customer 200 at Heartbeatz Creationz is getting close. Disappointingly, the owner has decided designers working for the store cannot vie for the prize & once the race gets to a certain point, orders from designers will be put on hold until after someone wins the very desirable collab prize. So I have no hope of being the lucky customer 200, but you, dear readers, you do. Check out the store, there is new stuff added daily & that collab kit is a prize worth winning.

Speaking of winning, I was fortunate enough to win the NSD door prize at Scrappetizing. The name of every customer who made a purchase during the NSD weeekend sale was placed into a blind draw & my name was pulled out! I got the news not long after finding out the collab race was off limits, so it really helped me feel better. And you will all eventually benefit from my win because every penny of the gift certificate went to CU tools so I can make you more goodies. In fact, I used some of my purchase in creating the kit I'm giving you today.

Well, it's time for the May DSO colour challenge with the wonderful Kim B hosting as usual.
I couldn't think of a theme this time around, so I just made a whole bunch of stuff, which is why I'm calling it May Potpourri. And when I say I made a whole bunch of stuff I mean it. This kit is so packed with goodies, that, for the sake of anyone on dial-up, I have divided the kit into 14 separate zips all stored in one folder on media fire. The frames are fancy & I was surprised at how much RAM they take, but I hope you agree that they are worth it. I also made a quick page with the kit as a special bonus.

I'm still waiting for computer repair. At least I can still create while I wait.
Enjoy.

May desktop freebie

I don't know about anyone else, but I used to get a regular desktop calendar through an online group & got hooked on the ease of just looking there for dates. Unfortunately, that group no longer supplies a monthly desktop, so I have to either find one on the web or make one.

Well, I stumbled aqcross my file for work by Angeles Sky yesterday & just had to work with her beautiful papers again. If you scroll back far enough you'll find a quick page I made many months ago. She does lovely work & you can click on her banner on my sidebar to visit her site.

May 2009 desktop

I'm still waiting for my computer to go into the shop. There is no way I can lift & carry my cpu after tearing 3 out of 4 shoulder tendons in a fall last year, so I use a business that, for a reasonable fee, will pick my computer up, take it to the shop, fix it, and then bring it back & set it up again.

The race to customer 200 at Heartbeatz Creationz has passed the 100 customer mark. Who will be the lucky winner? I really wouldn't mind being customer 200 - it is a gorgeous big kit. Today is the last day to get 60% off storewide. It includes some new stuff just released today, which is why I'm heading there to shop myself -Jada has just released the cutest templates of a turtle & a butterfly & they will go nicely in the big kit I am working on now.

Have a good day & I hope you like the desktop.

National Scrapbooking Day

Heartbeatz Creationz is having a big sale this weekend to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day.

All Scrappy Luv Designs are included in the 60% off sale.

today's freebie was made with my freebie kit A Day for Mom. True Love qp1

Arrrgh - my computer has to go into the shop & I don't have a laptop, so I'm bracing for the inevitable computer withdrawal. I hope they don't have to keep it more than a day. I'm seriously addicted to creating on my computer every day.

So think about shopping in my store. There's a repair bill in my immediate future & computer repair is rarely cheap. I may need all the help I can get - lol.

Anyway, enjoy. Hope to see y'all again real soon.
